There are over 10km of roads and paths throughout the reserve. These are ideal for cycling, jogging, bird and game watching, and walking.
A number of hides are being built in the reserve, some of them elevated by 7m giving great views of the reserve and surrounding area.
There is also a picnic spot and outlook at the top of the koppie that overlooks the development area. Horses are available for hire by property owners within the reserve and there is limited stabling available for those owners who have their own animals. Each property owner in the community has exclusive fishing rights to three dams1.
There is a 1 hectare (2.4 acre) communal area located at the centre of the development area and it may contain a swimming pool, paddling pool and a playground for children if agreed by the Body Corporate. The area may incorporate braai areas and other facilities as desired by the community.
The activity centre is located at the original homestead and up to date information about events and attractions in the local area can be obtained there. A bed and breakfast is also operated from the activity centre and a bar and small restaurant are planned.
The dam at the bottom of the development area has been enlarged to provide a substantial water surface for aquatic species, canoeing area and an increased fishing capacity. The dam enlargement was approved by the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Affairs and the Department of Water Affairs.
